The energetic counterpart of Ablon deals with bioelectromagnetic healing. This method is applicable to balancing the body’s energy system, which, in turn, may enhance the psychoneuroimmunological system of the patient. Pressure on specific urat (langkok tangan) is applied in order to stimulate the emergence of energetic blocks followed by bio-energetic extraction and balancing.

In addition, functional restoration of range of motion, strength, flexibility, endurance, power, and biomechanical functional performance are also increased.

During a session of bioelectromagnetic healing, sensitivity may be felt on the urat. For the majority of patients, this method is reputed to be very powerful, although patient response may vary.

Shortly after a session, clients may feel temporary heaviness or tingling, but in a euphoric state. A dramatic improvement, however, accompanied by an enhanced bioenergetic circulation, can be experienced even after the first session. 

Holistic Awareness

When healing the “whole” person, the following areas are considered:

Physical Level: When an imbalance, injury, or disability takes place, the practitioner of Ablon manipulates the neurovascular and musculoskeletal systems through pulling, stretching, pressure, joint mobilization, and other indigenous therapies in order to promote equilibrium.

Mental Level: During the consultation process, body mechanics may be analyzed to help point out the probable cause and effect of the patient’s condition.

Emotional Level: Emotional tendencies can play a major role on the physical body. Trauma, for example, can be recorded on a cellular level and expressed through physical holding patterns. The experienced healer would facilitate the release of these patterns and associated emotions through the application of Ablon to corresponding urat.

Spiritual Level: The ancient healers realized that at least 80-90% of illnesses were spiritual in nature, while the remaining 10-20% as physical. Supporting this belief is the saying, “Where the mind goes, the body follows.” It is therefore important to realize that peace, harmony, and humility should be attained as a way of creating a healthy environment.

Q: What is Ablon characterized as?

A: There are different components to Ablon. In describing the healing modality, Ablon is characterized by the application of structural therapeutics; neurovascular and muscluloskeletal stimulation and manipulation; and bioelectromagnetic healing.

Similar to the sciences of Chiropractic, Physiotherapy, and methods of Osteopathy, Ablon is a hands-on modality. It may resemble massage in some cases, but like these other modalities, Ablon is not a massage. Massage (aprus, pekpekkel), rather, is a “sub-category” of Ablon.

Q: Is Ablon painful?

A: Pain is a messenger of imbalances in the body and mind. It is a reflection of what has manifested on a physical level, whether its roots are due to genetics, injuries, or on a mental and emotional level. It is therefore important to be in touch with any noticeable pain.

One of the characteristics of Ablon is “innervation” which, according to Taber’s Medical Dictionary, is the “stimulation of a part through the action of nerves.” Pressure on the nerves can be naturally sensitive. When systematically applied, however, this sensitivity acts as an ally with the rewards of long-term pain relief following the session.

Q: Is there anything I need to do during the session?

A: Yes. It is best to relax and let go. During moments of sensitivity, deep and slow breathing is helpful in releasing tension, while holding the breath and tightening the body may result in pain and fatigue, and the inability of the body to assimilate the healing response.

Unlike the Western concept of avoiding any pain during the healing session, I uphold the belief of having the recipient experience any pain associated with the site of concern, at the same time, experiencing the healing response. By doing so, the recipient will also become more in tune with the body. It is, therefore, important to express your sensitivity through your breathing. This will give me an awareness of your response to what is being done in order to make any necessary adjustments during the session.

Q: Will I feel sore afterwards?

A: The majority of clients feel very relaxed after the session. Through my experience, however, I discovered that those who are high-stressed and resist going with the flow, perhaps due to chronic holding patterns, are those who sometimes experience soreness the following day. Nevertheless, this soreness is natural and part of the healing response.

Q: Is there anything I need to do after the session?

A: Rest if possible so that your body can adjust to the physiological changes. It is a practice to avoid temperature extremes after receiving Ablon, otherwise pasma may set in as understood in traditional Filipino medicine. In Humoral Pathology, pasma is caused by internal shock to the system. This can be in the form of taking a hot or cold shower, drinking cold liquids, or exposure to wind.

Traditionally, general guidelines include taking a shower either before the session or the following day; avoiding cold drinks; and sufficiently covering the body to prevent exposure to draft. An increase in water intake will help hydrate, flush, and balance the body.

Q: When should I schedule my next appointment?

A: Ideally, it is more effective if sessions are “over-lapped.” What this means is that the gap between the sessions are kept close together so that the healing response has a continuous flow, as opposed to spreading them far apart, which may allow the condition to revert to its imbalanced state.

Q: Is Ablon right for me?

A: Only after discussing each case am I able to assess if the individual can benefit from Ablon. Although I have successfully dealt with many different cases, especially those of a neurovascular or musculoskeletal nature, I do not treat specific conditions and I strongly urge the individual to consult with a medical professional if needed.

At times, I may feel a “specialist” would be more appropriate to handle certain cases such as chronic diseases. Through my network of associates, I can refer you to one if you request.
